Five years after their debuts in Ishaaqzade, Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra to reunite to collaborate with Dibakar Banerjee on Yash Raj Film’s latest project, Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar.

Announced on Yash Raj Film’s Twitter page, the synopsis sounded vaguely familiar to the plot of Ishaaqzade.

“The film is a story of a man and a woman who represent two completely different Indias. They are united in one thing only. Their mistrust, suspicion, and hate for each other,” it read. With Ishaaqzade receiving a lukewarm reception, the duo will be hoping for a better outing under the golden touch of Dibakar Baneerjee, renowned for cinematic gems like Love Sex Aur Dhoka.

“Dibakar Banerjee is a name synonymous with being the torchbearer of evolving new age cinema that engages and entertains. I can’t wait to work under his tutelage and vision,” Arjun Kapoor said.

Parineeti Chopra said that the two actors had ‘dreamed’ of working under Mr. Dibakar and couldn’t wait to get started on the project. The actor is scheduled to have a busy 2017 with two upcoming releases — Takadum and Golmaal Again.

Director Dibakar Banerjee, collaborating for the third time with Yash Raj, echoed similar sentiments, saying, “This feels like my first film, again. I’ve had to unlearn everything I know to tell this story about a man and a woman who can’t stand each other but can’t survive without each other.”

The production house and Banerjee’s first collaboration was Cannes award-winning film Titli.
