The Mobb Deep MC Prodigy has passed on, aged 42.
Wonder, genuine name Albert Johnson, was hospitalized a week ago in Las Vegas because of complexities caused by a sickle cell iron deficiency emergency – an ailment he has struggled since birth. His demise was affirmed before today (June 20), albeit no official reason for death has been given as of now.
An agent for Mobb Deep affirmed Prodigy’s going in an announcement [via Billboard].
“It is with extraordinary pity and skepticism that we affirm the demise of our dear companion Albert Johnson, better referred to a large number of fans as Prodigy of amazing NY rap team Mobb Deep,” the announcement read. “We might want to thank everybody for regarding the family’s security as of now.”
Wonder shaped Mobb Deep with Havoc in New York in 1992. The team discharged their first collection, ‘Adolescent Hell’, the next year.
Their breakout collection, ‘The Infamous’, anticipated Mobb Deep to more extensive consideration in 1995, and is viewed as a hip-jump exemplary. Their 1999 fourth collection, ‘Murda Muzik’, went platinum upon its discharge.
